Farnley visit

Fewston class had great fun with building twig towers.

Farnley Hall morning

The whole school had a great time at Farnley Hall this morning.
Fewston class searched for different types of leaves and mini beasts while Lindley class measured leaves and found percentages of different  types of leaves. Lindley class then wrote amazing shape poems using similes, metaphors and personification. What a great morning!

The view from our classroom at Farnley Hall this morning!

The week in pictures.

What a busy week we have had! Making our own Van Gogh pictures of sunflowers. These will soon be exhibited in the school hall for all to see.
Today the EYFS have been making lists of what the hungry caterpillar ate to turn into a butterfly. They were all really excited to look in his picnic basket and wrote some wonderful lists as well as drawing pictures of from the story and playing beanbag buckets. A great time was had by all!
Throughout the week the children have continued to plant and monitor seeds and seedlings in the outdoor area.
They have also enjoyed using the hammers and nails to develop their hand and eye co ordination and concentration as well as their physical skills.

They all looked like busy little elves! Just needed the hats!

Trip to Harlow Carr

Lindley class had a great time at Harlow Carr today, despite the wind and rain! We discovered lots about plant fertilisation and had fun exploring the gardens.
